Here we summarize the parameters that are followed by women that undergo treatment at The Victorian.  Keep in mind that each patient receives a unique personalized treatment program that is customized specifically for her.  To best understand how we can help treat you or your loved one, please contact our admissions counselors.  They will provide you with a confidential assessment and be able to answer any questions you will have. 

One of the specialties of The Victorian and an area where we have exceptional expertise is in treating clients that have other addictions that occur simultaneously as their eating disorder.   

Phase I at The Victorian:

Features structured inpatient treatment with round the clock monitored supervisionTreatment during this phase consists of:

  • 12-Step Meetings pertaining to eating disorders or substance abuse
  • Sessions with a registered dietitian every two weeks
  • Meals prepared specifically for each individual with mealtimes that are monitored
  • One-on-one counseling sessions with case manager and staff therapist
  • Process groups
  • Nutritional education
  • Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT)
  • Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)
  • Body image groups
  • Medication management and psychiatric evaluation
  • Family sessions with clinical director
  • Relationship group
  • Goal setting & life skills
  • Relapse prevention
  • Restaurant outings
  • Yoga & meditation
  • Gym

Phase II at The Victorian

This phase typically is offered during the 2nd month of treatment and includes the same groups as those in Phase I, but has more flexibility and choice.  The case manager assists each patient with individualizing their treatment schedules, which could include:

  • Enrollment in TEACH program (back to school)
  • Spiritual growth groups (Celebrate Recovery)
  • Dual diagnosis
  • Grief and trauma
  • Volunteer work within the community
  • Anger management

Phase III at The Victorian

This is the phase where the transitional living experience beings.  During this time, patients receive at least 20 hours of treatment a week.  This includes a minimum of seven 12-Step meetings a week.  Individuals also have the choice of the following groups or workshops:

  • Individual counseling with registered dietitian, case manager, and staff therapist
  • Involvement in volunteer work, school work, or a “get-well” job
  • Menu planning
  • House meeting and process group
  • Weekend and overnight supervision is monitored by house parent and the patient may have her own transportation.
  • Grocery shopping with staff.

Phase III at The Victorian

Known as “Sober Living Environment" for women with eating disorders and/or substance abuse issues.  The length of stay could be as long as desired or necessary.  The following are the requirements:

  • She must meet weekly with her case manager
  • She must demonstrate a commitment to continued recovery/abstinence
  • She has to submit to mandatory weight checks
  • She must attend a minimum of five 12-Step meetings a week
  • She must participate in labs
  • She must attend weekly house meetings
  • She must participate in random drug screenings
